FAQs

We source flowers in the UK where possible and in the summer months we even stock flowers grown within 5 miles of our shop. We supplement these with flowers sourced from the Netherlands. We’re very selective about who we work with, and make a point of visiting the growers wherever possible to learn more about their approach. All of our suppliers are family businesses – many now in their third generation. These are some of the most highly-regarded and successful growers in the world.

We’re open Monday to Saturday from 9am – 4.30pm, as well as on special occasions such as Mother’s Day. You can check our current opening hours on Google. Our website is open 24/7 for you to place an order.

Absolutely! You’re welcome to come into the shop to buy a single stem – if you’d like to have the flowers delivered, our minimum spend is £45.

Most of our customers enjoy the experience of choosing their own flowers and creating a unique bouquet. For that reason we don’t usually have bouquets ready to take away, other than at our very busy times such as Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. However, we’re more than happy to get a bouquet ready for you to collect. You can either order on our website or call us on 0131 668 3773. It usually takes us around 10 minutes to get a bouquet ready for you.

The great thing about flowers is that there are no rules and everyone’s taste is different. That means our job is always varied and interesting! We always say that you know the person the best and you should choose whatever you think they will like. If you’re stuck you’re always welcome to ask us for advice.

Of course! What you see on our website is just a small selection of the flowers that we have in stock or are able to source. We’re always happy to create a bespoke arrangement for you – get in touch by email or telephone to discuss this further.

We will always deliver on the day that you have requested, but unfortunately we can’t guarantee a specific delivery time.

We will leave the flowers in a safe place if there is one (such as a shed) or with a neighbour, and will put a card through the letterbox to let the recipient know where they are. If there is no other option then we will return the flowers to our shop, where the recipient is welcome to come and collect them. Unfortunately we will have to apply an additional delivery charge if you would like us to redeliver. We always recommend making sure the recipient will be at home on the delivery day to avoid any issues.

Here are our top tips for making your bouquet last as long as possible.

  1. When we make a hand-tied bouquet we tie the bouquet with twine. We would recommend that you do not remove the twine as it keeps the flowers in place.
  2. After you’ve unwrapped your flowers and before putting them into a vase, cut the bottom 2-3cm from each stem. This allows the flowers to take up water.
  3. We provide flower food with all our bouquets – make sure you add this to the vase as it provides nutrients for the flowers as well as helping to stop bacteria growing in the vase.
  4. Heat makes flowers bloom quickly. Therefore we always recommend keeping your flowers in a cool, draught free place, away from radiators and out of direct sunlight. The cooler the room, the longer the flowers will last.
  5. Always keep flowers away from fruit and vegetables. These give off gases which can cause the flowers to deteriorate quickly.
  6. After a few days you will see the water start to become cloudy. When you see this, you should change the water.
